Regional Kitchen Trainer
My name is Fernando Pena, and I'm originally from Mexico. I've been working for the company for almost seven years, starting in the kitchen on cold side at our Costa Mesa store in California, then on the hot side. I became the kitchen lead and worked in that position for five years, then kitchen supervisor for a year and now I am proud to say that I am a Regional Kitchen Trainer for the company. I love that NFC has allowed me to teach what I have learned to others and that my travels as Kitchen Trainer have taken me all over the country.
Hello! My name is Isa Reinmiller and I am the District Manager over the Colorado Market. I am originally from Brazil and have lived here in the United States for eight years. After five years in the restaurant management business, I was looking for a company that had a strong reputation of impacting people’s lives and would allow me to help coach and develop my team members. I started with Native foods in August of 2013 as a General Manager and after one very exciting year I am now overseeing multiple locations and helping grow Native Foods in Colorado. One of the main reasons I joined the NFC family is that we have an amazing goal to change the way America eats. I love impacting that change and playing an increasingly greater role in the company as it grows. My story is a testament to Native Foods’ commitment to developing its people. Native Foods really has a grasp on people development and challenges you to be the best you can be.

My name is Jose Perez Jr. and I started with Native Foods Café in the summer of 2012. I started as an entry level manager at our Loop location and have grown as the organization has. I always wanted to be part of a vegan restaurant ever since becoming vegan myself in college. Telling people about a compassionate and sustainable way of eating is so much easier when you have something they can try. Native Foods Café makes it easy for anyone to come in, try a fantastic plant based dish and have a great time doing it…The easiest way to someone’s heart is through their stomach!
In March of 2014, I had the opportunity to be part of a new store opening which let me see how much thought and hard work goes into every location. I later became the General Manager of our Hyde Park store and the rest is NFC history (with more to be written!). I’ve always dreamed about a company like Native Foods Café…and I’m glad to be part of it!
Regional Training Manager
When I first started with NFC in May of 2011, I was in a training class exactly like the ones I now teach. I was an hourly Team Member working only a few days a week. After a very short time I came to find just how special Native Foods is – a company whose number one priority is to change the way America eats?! I had to get involved in that change. I advanced from a Front of the House (FOH) Team Member to Team Lead, then FOH Supervisor, Assistant General Manager, General Manager, Regional General Manager, and, most recently, my current position as Regional Training Manger. Being able to start from the ground up has given me the hands on experience and knowledge I’ve always wanted.
I love NFC’s investment in the development of each Team Member. Being able to find a place that truly cares about your personal goals, and does everything to help you reach them, is quite rare. As a person who loves sports, baseball in particular (GO ANGELS!), teamwork has always been important to me. Hi everyone! I started at Native Foods in August 2011 as an hourly food runner when we opened our first Chicago location in Wicker Park. At the time, I had recently moved home from college and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, and I found a career here at Native Foods with a ton of opportunity for growth! I quickly became a store lead, then a supervisor, then Assistant Manager, and in April 2013 became General Manager of the Loop location - one of Native Foods’ busiest locations!
Being around the restaurant really changed the way I thought about food and along the way I even became vegan myself. I grew up with a big Italian family where “no meat” wasn't really a thing. Native Foods helped me realize that being vegan is easy if you have access to quality food. I love Native Foods for so many reasons. I am proud to work for a company with an unparalleled ethical and cultural integrity. The people that work at NFC are the most passionate, friendly, and hardworking people that I have had the privilege of knowing. I am inspired each and every day to do the best that I can to help my team continue to thrive. Our food is truly phenomenal. The Classic Deli Reuben was a revelation in my life.
